[OSD] (On-Screen Display)
Yon can switch the display language oll the TV
screen.
[MENU] (DVD VIDEO only)
You can switch tile language for the disc's
IIlelln.
[AUDIO] (DVD VIDEO only)
Yon cml switch the language of the sound track.
When you select [ORIGINAL], tire language
given priority ill the disc is selected.
[SUBTITLE] (DVD VIDEO only)
You can switch tile language of the suhtitle
recorded on the DVD VIDEO.
When you select [AUDIO FOLLOW], the
language for tile subtitles changes according to
the language you selected li_r the sound track.
• When you select a language in [MENU], [AUDIO],
or [SUBTITLE] that isnot recorded on the DVD
VIDEO, one of the recorded languages will be
automatically selected (depending on tile disc, the
language may not be selected automatically/.

If you select IOTHERS ---_1 in IMENU], IAUDIO],
and [SUBTITLE]_ select and enter a language code
from "Language Code List" (page 113) using the
number buttons.
[VIDEO SETUP]
Select settings according to the TV to be
connected.

[TV TYPE]
You can select the aspect ratio of tire connected
TV.
_: Selecl Ilaiswhen you connect a wide-
screen TV or a TV with a wide mode fimction.
14:3 LETTER BOX]: Select this when you
counect a4:3 screen TV. Displays a wide picture
with bands on the tipper and lower portions of
the TV screen.
[4:3 PAN SCAN :Select this when you connect
a 4:3 screen TV. The system automatically
displays the wide picture on the entire screen
and cuts off the portions that do not fit.

• Depending on Ihe DVD, 14:3LETTER BOX] may be
selected automatically instead of [4:3 PAN SCAN] or
vice versa.
[PROGRESSIVE (COMPONENT OUT)]
You can set tire progressive signal that is output
tYom the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jacks to
on/off. For details, see "Does your TV accept
progressive signals?" (page 46).
_: Tire system outputs interlace signals.
[ON]: The system outputs progressive signals.
When you select [ON], l\_llow the Steps below.
1 Select [ON], then press @.
Tile confirmation display appears.
2 Press 1-/-')to select [START], then
press @.
