When calibrating for a multiple listening
positions in a single row, place the
microphones:
at the approximate spot where the listener’s head
will be during listening
in a clear line-of-sight path with the speakers
in a location unobstructed by furniture and other
fixtures, where echoes will not obscure calibration
noise signals
at least 2 feet (0.61m) from all speakers and walls,
but within 30 feet (9.14m) of all speakers
The illustration at the right provides an example of proper
microphone placement when calibrating for multiple listening
positions in a single row. Each microphone is positioned in a
single listening position within a single row, allowing the MC-12
to calibrate optimal speaker distances and output levels for that
row at the expense of a single listening position.
