To check the currently playing source and various
settings
Listening in the Dolby Headphone Mode

Switch the input source (vpage 24).
Plug the headphones (sold separately) into the
<PHONES> jack.
The sound from the speakers is automatically cut off.

Press [SURROUND] to select the “DOLBY H/P”
The “ ” indicator lights.

Play the source.

Use [SURROUND PARAMETER] to display the various
surround parameters, then select with [o p].

In the stop mode, press [STATUS].
b The playback source and the various surround settings are shown
on the display each time the button is pressed.
NOTE
Be careful not to set the volume too high when using headphones.

Tuning in Broadcast Stations

Use <FUNCTION> or [FM/AM] to select “TUNER”.

Use <BAND> or [FM/AM] to select the reception
band.

Use <+/–>, [TUNING +/–] or [o p] to select the
reception frequency.
When a station is received, the “TUNED” indication will light.
A humming sound may be heard when using a TV nearby while
receiving AM programs. If this happens, move the system as far from
the TV as possible.
Display of the FM broadcast reception status
• When the reception band mode is set to “FM AUTO” and a stereo
broadcast is tuned in, the “ST” indicator lights.
• If the signal is weak and stable stereo reception is not possible, set
the reception band mode to “FM MONO” and receive the program
in monaural. The “MONO” indicator lights.
Main unit <+/–> button
There are two, switchable modes fo <+/–> the tuning mode for setting
the reception frequency (setting upon purchase), and the preset mode
for selecting the preset broadcast station.
n Switching the preset mode
Pressing <+> while pressing in <BAND>.
“PRESET” is flashes for approximately 5 seconds.
n Switching the tuning mode
Pressing <–> while pressing in <BAND>.
“TUNING” is flashes for approximately 5 seconds.
Auto tuning
When <+/–>, [TUNING +/–] or [o p] is pressed and held in, the set
automatically starts searching for a broadcast station.
b Stations whose signal is weak cannot be tuned in.
