3. Network
The DP-S1 supports two networking interfaces: Ethernet and wireless
LAN. You can use one of these interfaces at a time. To use the wireless
LAN interface, you have to prepare a wireless router. This section will
guide you how to configure the network interfaces.
NOTE
z
The wireless LAN interface requires more hardware resources such as
processing power and memory capacity. Therefore, some features will
be limited if you use a wireless LAN interface.
z
The wireless LAN interface of the DP-S1 is compatible with IEEE
802.11g. Therefore it is strongly recommended to connect the DP-S1
with a wireless router compatible with IEEE 802.11g protocol for
maximum performance.
z
The wireless LAN interface requires additional configuration to set a
secure channel of communication. When using a wireless LAN
interface you at risk from unauthorized users getting into your
network or devices. This is at customers own risk.
3-1. Setting
The first step is to select an interface and configure it. You can select
this in the Network Device menu. You will get a pop-up menu by
pressing the
OK
button. If you want to use the Ethernet interface,
please select the “LAN” option. You can set the wireless LAN interface
by setting the “Network Device” menu as “W-LAN”.
NOTE
z
If you select “Disable” option, all network devices will be disabled
even though you configure them properly.
