You can check the playing time and remaining
time of the current track or that of the disc.
When a DVD/CD-TEXT disc or a disc with
MP3 audio tracks or JPEG image file is loaded,
you can also check the information recorded on
disc, such as the titles.
Checking the playing time,
remaining time and titles
(DVD/VIDEO CD/CD/Super
Audio CD/MP3/JPEG)
Press TIME/TEXT during Normal Play.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes cyclically as follows:
x When playing a DVD VIDEO/DVD-RW
Elapsed playing time of the current title t
Remaining time of the current title t
Elapsed playing time of the current chapter t
Remaining time of the current chapter t
Disc name

Only alphabet letters and numbers can be displayed.
Other characters appear as “*”. In addition, “NO
TEXT” is displayed for discs without DVD/CD text
and file name.

The display returns to the top image after 2 seconds.

These are not displayed during Shuffle Play or
Program Play.

Super Audio CD/VIDEO CD without PBC function

Notes
If the disc does not contain text, the disc name or the
track name is displayed “NO TEXT”.
The system can only display the first level of the
DVD/CD text, such as the Disc name or title.
If an MP3 audio track name cannot be displayed, “*”
will appear in the display instead.
Playing timer of MP3 audio tracks may not be
displayed correctly.
If you play a disc containing JPEG image files only,
“JPEG” or “No Audio” appears in the display.
If you play a disc containing MP3 audio tracks only,
“No Image” appears in the display.
Checking the total playing
time and titles (DVD/VIDEO
CD/CD/Super Audio CD)
Press TIME/TEXT in stop mode.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes cyclically as follows:
x When a DVD VIDEO/DVD-RW is in
Normal Play mode
Total title number of the disc t Disc name*
x When a CD/Super Audio CD/VIDEO CD
without PBC function is in Normal Play
mode
Total playing time of the disc t Disc name*
x When a VIDEO CD with PBC functions
(Ver. 2.0) is in Normal Play mode
Total scene number of the disc t Disc name*
