PARALLEL SYNCED GAIN
CONNECTIONS/SETTINGS
Referto Figure5 forwiring details.
1.Input Signal—Connectthese RCAjacks asdescribed
inthe FrontPanelConnection sectionof thisguide.
2.SLAVE/MASTER Switch—
•Set theSLAVE/MASTER switchon themaster
amplifierto theMASTER position.
•Set theSLAVE/MASTER switchon theslave
amplifierto the SLAVEposition.
•Setting theSLAVE/MASTER switchon both
amplifierswill automaticallyset theI/O RCA
jackconfiguration accordingto each amplifier’s
slaveor master designation.
NOTE:One master amplifier can controlup tothree SLAVE
amplifiersin thiscombination. Multipleidentical MASTER/
SLAVEcombinations canbe added toany givensystem.
3.Phase Switch—Setthe phaseswitches ofall synced
ampsto thesame position(all at 0° or all at180°).
4.To AchieveSafe, OptimalPerformance—The LPF,
BassEQ, andSubsonic Filter controlson allsynced amps
mustbe setto the sameposition.
5.Signal Connection—Connectan RCAcable between
theOUT RCAjack ofthe masteramplifier andthe
SLAVEIN RCAjack ofthe slaveamplifier asshown
inthe Figure5.
6.Subwoofer SpeakerConnection—In thisamplifier
combination,each amplifiermust driveits ownseparate
subwoofer(s).Connect thespeaker terminals of each
amplifierto any combinationof oneor moresubwoofers
thatresults innominal impedancebetween 1and 4
ohms.Make surethat eachamplifier seesthe same
speakerimpedance.
WARNING:The amplifier’sgain controlis bypassedcom-
pletelyin SLAVEmode. DONOT movethe MASTER/SLAVE
switchto SLAVEposition whenthe amplifieris connected
andplaying. DONOT connectany signalsource to the
amplifierin SLAVEmode thatexceeds 200mV.

COMBINING AMPLIFIERS
ThePolk 600.1and 1200.1subwoofer amplifiershave
thecapability ofconnecting twoor moreamplifiers of
thesame powerrating togetherin amaster/slave
combinationfor increased powerwith accuratelevel
matching.They arethe ParallelSynced Gain and
ExternalSynced Bridgedcombinations.
WARNING:DO NOTattempt tocombine amplifiersof
differentpower ratings.These amplifiercombinations
workcorrectly onlyif the MASTERand SLAVEamplifiers
areidentical models.
PARALLEL SYNCED GAIN
Inthis MASTER/SLAVEcombination themaster amplifier
pre-ampcontrols remain active andthe slaveamplifier
pre-ampis bypassed.This allows themaster amplifier
tocontrol gain,filter, andsub-level onboth amplifiers.
Thiscombination allowsthe amplifiers todrive theirown
separatesubwoofer(s) whilebeing syncedtogether viaan
in-phaseaudio pre-ampsignal from the masteramplifier.
Wiringconnections tothe amplifier subwooferoutputs
inthis combinationshould bestandard in-phaseconfigura-
tions,creating aparallel speakerconnection. (Referto
ParallelSynced Gain sectionof this guide foramplifier
andspeaker connectiondiagrams.)
NOTE:One masteramplifier cancontrol upto threeslave
amplifiersin thiscombination. Multiple identical MASTER/
SLAVEcombinations canbe addedto any givensystem.
EXTERNAL SYNCED BRIDGED
Inthis MASTER/SLAVEcombination themaster amplifier
pre-ampcontrols remainactive andthe slaveamplifier
pre-ampis bypassed.This allows themaster amplifierto
controlgain, filter, andsub-level on both amplifiers. This
combinationallows theamplifiers to drivecommon sub-
wooferloads whilebeing syncedtogether viaan out-of-
phaseaudio pre-ampsignal fromthe master amplifier.
Inthis subwooferwiring configurationthe masterampli-
fiersends thepositive signalto the subwooferwhile the
slaveamplifier sendsthe negative signal,making an
externallybridged speakerconnection. (Referto External
SyncedBridged sectionof thisguide foramplifier and
speakerconnection diagrams.)
NOTE:Amplifiers inthis combinationcan onlybe connected
inmatched pairs.Multiple matchedpairs maybe added
todrive separatesubwoofer loads ina given system.

GAIN AND FILTERSETTINGS
NOTE:You MUSTset theSubsonic, EQ,and otherfilter
settingson themasteramplifier to the samepositions to
achievesafe, optimal results.Adjustment guidelinesare
discussedin theCrossover andGain Adjustmentsection
ofthis guide.

andthe combinedload impedanceshould be taken intoconsideration whenconnecting multiplesubwoofers.
