TROUBLESHOOTING
Check the following before assuming there is a problem with the set.
If this does not solve the problem, there may be a problem with the set. Turn off the power and unplug the power cord, then contact your
store of purchase.
Check the connection.
Symptom
<General operation>
RemedyPossible problem
AC adaptor is not properly connected.Power does not turn on.
Turn on the power switch on the set’s rear
panel.
Power switch is set to “OFF”.
Use a serial command to cancel the key lock
mode.
The key lock mode has been set by serial
command.
Buttons do not function.
Use an FTP “SITE” command to cancel the key
lock mode.
An FTP “SITE” command is being executed.
Press the STOP button for at least 2 seconds to
cancel the script.
A script file is playing.

A medium has been ejected while drive the
drive was being accessed.
“Reboot!!!” has appeared
momentarily on the monitor
display or has appeared does not
turn off.

Reboot has been executed by serial command.
Create all the prescribed directories (VIDEO,
AUDIO, PICTURE and SCRIPT).
A prescribed directory has not been created.
“!” displayed on the OSD even
when the SELECT button is
pressed.
Reformat the playback medium.
The data is lost when the medium is
formatted.
File is damaged.File cannot be played.
Create a file in a format that can be played on
this set.
The file format is not one that can be played on
this set.
Use a recommended card.
The playback medium does not have sufficient
performance (speed) to keep up with the set’s
reading speed.
Image stops in the middle or is
interrupted.
Format the medium.
The data is lost when the medium is
formatted.
The medium is not formatted.
Playback medium is not
recognized.
Use the set’s serial control command to format
the medium on the set.
The data is lost when the medium is
formatted.
The format of the medium is not a format
compatible with this set.
If the set’s drive access lamp flashes
repeatedly and the medium is not recognized
though it is recognized on a computer, etc., it
may be formatted in NTFS or super floppy
format.
Replace the cable(s).
<Synchronized playback>
The cable(s) for synchronization are damaged.
Two units cannot be synchronized,
or time code synchronization does
not work.
Make the synchronization settings, then turn the
power off then back on.
The master/slave settings in the synchronization
settings are not correct.
Make the time code setting. (Serial command)
In the slave mode, the time code setting is
wrong.
Refer to the description of scripts and correct
the text.
<Script playback>
The text of the script is wrong.
On the DN-V1700, if there are mistakes in the
script text, in some cases script execution
will not start. This is to prevent malfunction.
Script playback is not possible or
stops in the middle.
Check the switch on the set’s rear panel.
<Serial communications>
The RS232C/422A selector switch is not set.
Serial communications not
possible.
Check the communications protocol of the
controller.
The communications settings on the controller
do not match the settings on the DN-V1700.
