Problem
The sound suddenly
goes off,
Only the speaker on
one side can be
heard.
Only the center
speaker outputs
substantial sound.
No sound from the
effect speakers.
No sound from the
center speaker.
No sound from the
surround speakers.
No sound from the
surround back
speaker.
No sound from the
subwoofer.
Cause Remedy
The protection circuitry has been activated Check that the speaker wires are not touching each
because of a short circuit, etc. other and then turn tiffs unit back on
Tile sleep timm has mined the unit off. Turn on the powa, and play the source again
Tile sound is ranted. Press MUTE to cancel a nmte
Incorrect cable COlmentions
Incorrect balance settings in SET MENU.
When playing a monaural somce with a
CINEMA DSP program, the somce signal
is directed to the center channel, and the
fiont and smround speakers outpnt eflhct

Connect the cables properly If the problem persists,
the cables may be dethctive
Adjust the SP LEVEL settings.
The sound field programs are turned off2 Press STRAIGHT (EFFECT) to mm them on.

fields

NONE
"BASS OUT" in SET MENU is set to
FRONT when a Dolby Digital or DTS
signal isbeing played
"BASS OUT" in SET MENU is set to
SWFR or FRONT when a 2-channel
source is being played
The somce does not contain lowbass
signals
If the smTound left and right speakers are set to
NONE, the surround back speaker setting is
antomatically set to NONE Select the appropriate
setting tbr the smround speakms
Select SWFR or BOTH
Select BOTH.
