Chapter 4 Playing Discs
(DVP-NW50 only)
Parental control (limited playback)
The following operations are set up using the remote
while looking at a TV screen.
The PARENTAL CONTROL function allows you to set
a playback limitation level.
Playback of some DVD VIDEOs can be limited according
to a predetermined level, such as the age of the users.
1 Press DVD SETUP on the remote when the Unit is in
stop mode.
The Setting Menu appears.
2 Press G/g to select (Preference,) then press
ENTER or f on the remote.
The options for Preference appear.
3 Press F/f to select Parental, then press ENTER or
f on the remote.
The items for Parental level are displayed.
4 Press F/f to select level items, then press ENTER on
the remote.
The lower the value, the stricter the limitation.
5 Enter or re-enter your 4-digit password using the
numeric buttons, then press ENTER on the remote.
When the level is not changed, the display does not
appear.
To turn off the parental control function
1 Press F/f to select OFF in step 4 above, then press
ENTER on the remote.
2 Enter your 4-digit password using the numeric
buttons, then press ENTER on the remote.
To play a disc for which parental control is set
1 Insert the disc for which Parental Control is set.
2 Enter your 4-digit password using the numeric
buttons, then press ENTER on the remote.
The Unit is ready for playback.
To change the password
1 Press F/f to select Password on the Preference
Display, then press ENTER on the remote.
2 Change is highlighted, then press ENTER on the
remote.
The display used for entering the password appears.
3 Enter your 4-digit password using numeric buttons
on the remote.
4 Enter a new 4-digit password using numeric buttons
on the remote.
