" Audio connection to digital tuner, etc.
You can listen to digital tuner sound from the speakers by connecting the amplifier
unit using an audio digital cable (not supplied).
To listen to digital tuner, etc. sound:
Turn the power on and press the FUNCTION button on the main unit.
Each press of this button changes the input in the order of "DIGITAL 1" "DIGITAL
2" "TV" "VCR".
You can also use the DIG FUNCTION (DIGITAL 1/DIGITAL 2) button on the remote
control.
" Digital connection to a digital audio
recorder, etc.
You can record sound on a digital audio recorder by connecting to the digital audio
output jack using an optical digital cable.
When connecting a digital audio recorder to the digital audio output jack, set
"Audio Out" to "PCM" (see page 47).
DIGITAL 1: The audio input is switched to "COAXIAL".

Notes:
! Some discs are copy protected and digital recording is not possible (including DTS
signals).
! The digital audio output jack sends signals coming from a DVD/CD, the digital au-
dio input jack. Signals from the tuner, audio TV input jacks and audio VCR input
jacks are not sent.
! When you play DVD discs with Linear PCM sound recorded at a 96 kHz sampling
rate, sound may be sampled at 96 kHz (or 48 kHz depending on the disc).
! Plug in each cable fully to prevent noise interference.
! When using the optical digital jack, remove the cap first. After us-
ing the jack, replace the cap.
