USB connection
The USB interface on the front panel of the P 64 uses the USB 1.1 standard.
Accordingly, the low speed (1,5 MBit/s) and full speed (12 MBit/s) transfer rates are
supported. According to USB specifications, the cable which is connected to this
interface must not be longer than 5 meters. The USB interface of the P 64 is a USB-
B (female) connector.
The standard pin configuration can be seen in the following figure and table.
RS-232 Interface
With the RS-232 interface on the rear panel, communication with the P 64
is possible via a simple ASCII communication protocol. Thus, the P 64 can
be operated and configured via external devices (examples are, among
other things, media control systems and PROMATRIX
®
System DPM4000
matrix manager). In order to make data transfer between the P 64 and the
connected device possible, the interfaces on both sides of the transmission
route must be identically configured. The configuration of the interface of
the P 64 is given in the following table.
