Troubleshooting
1 The CRW-F1 drive is not recognized by the operating system. (P. 23)

Is the 4-pin internal power cable connected properly to the CRW-F1 drive?
Turn off the computer, and remove the computer cover. Check that the connector of
the 4-pin internal power cable is connected to the CRW-F1 drive in the correct
direction, and that the 4-pin internal power cable is fully connected. (P. 10, 22)

If the CRW-F1 drive is connected to another 4-pin internal power cable that
properly conducts power to another device, is the CRW-F1 drive turned on?
Turn off the computer. Be sure that the CRW-F1 drive is connected to another 4-pin
internal power cable that properly conducts power to another device, and check that
the CRW-F1 drive is turned on when turning on the computer. (P. 10, 22)
If the drive is turned on, the computer’s power unit may be damaged.
If the drive is not turned on, contact the store of purchase or your nearest Yamaha
dealer (listed at the back of this manual).

Is the IDE cable connected properly to the CRW-F1 drive?
Turn off the computer and remove the computer cover. Check that the connector of
the IDE cable connected to the CRW-F1 drive is in the correct direction, and that the
IDE cable is fully connected. (P. 10, 18)
Then check that the pins of the IDE interface connector of the CRW-F1 drive are not
bent.

Is the IDE cable connected properly to the motherboard?
Check that the connector of the IDE cable is connected to the motherboard in the
correct direction, and that the IDE cable is fully connected. (P. 18)
