Using Various Functions with the Control Menu
Displaying the audio information of the
disc
When you select “AUDIO,” the playing channels are
displayed on the screen.
In Dolby Digital format, the signals from monaural to 5.1
channels can be recorded on a DVD. Depending on the
DVD the number of the recorded channels may be
different.
* “PCM,“ “DTS” or “DOLBY DIGITAL“ is displayed. In
“DOLBY DIGITAL” case, the channels in the playing
track are displayed by number as follows:
The case of Dolby Digital (AC-3) 5.1 ch:
** The letters in the program format display mean the
following:
L: Front (L)
R: Front (R)
C: Center (monaural)
LS: Rear (L)
S: Rear (monaural) – the rear component of the
Dolby Surround processed stereo signal and the
Dolby Digital signal
RS: Rear (R)
LFE: LFE (Low Frequency Effect)
The display examples are as follows:
•PCM (stereo)
•Dolby Surround
•Dolby Digital 5.1 ch
•DTS
z You can find Dolby Surround-encoded software by looking at
the packaging
Use discs with the logo. In order to enjoy Dolby Digital
playback you must use discs bearing this logo.
