Recording an MD on a
tape
You can make an analogue recording of an MD on
a tape with the tracks in the same sequence as the
original MD.
You can also record a programme of favourite
tracks.

1 Insert a blank tape.
2 Insert an MD.
3 Press SYNCHRO REC repeatedly until
“MD-TAPE SYNC ?” appears.
4 Press ENTER/START.
The tape deck stands by for recording and
the MD deck pauses for play.
5 Press TAPE H to record starting from
the top side or h from the bottom
side.
6 Press DIRECTION repeatedly until g
appears to record on one side or h (or
j) to record on both sides.
If you select both sides recording and the
tape reaches the end of the top side part-way
through a track, the entire track is recorded
again from the beginning of the bottom side.
When you start recording from the bottom
side, the recording stops at the end of the
bottom side even though you select h.
7 Press ENTER/START.
MD playing and tape recording start. The
MD deck and the tape deck stop
automatically when the recording is
completed.
To stop recording
Press s.
If the tape becomes full during
recording
The MD deck and the tape deck stop
automatically.
Tip
When you want to reduce the hiss noise in low-level,
high-frequency signals, press DOLBY NR after step 4
so “DOLBY NR” appears in the display.
Note
If “Cannot SYNC!” appears, a disc or a tape is not
loaded or you cannot record on that tape (see pages
72 and 73).
