2 Press TUNER/BAND to select “FM” or
“AM”.
3 Press TUNING MODE repeatedly until
“PRESET” appears.
4 Press TUNING + or – to select the

5 Press z MD.
The MD deck stands by for recording and the
indicator on the z MD button lights red.
6 Press MD HS.
Recording starts.
To stop recording
Press s.
Tips
• If noise is heard while recording an AM radio
programme, move the AM loop aerial to reduce the
noise or connect a ground wire to the U terminal
(see page 65).
• You can record the MD in monaural format. For
details, see “Monaural recording” on page 41.
• To record non-preset stations, select “MANUAL”
in step 3, then press TUNING + or – to tune in the
desired station.

— Manual Recording
You can make an analogue recording of a radio
programme on an MD or a tape.
Recording on an MD
If you use a partially recorded MD, recording
starts after the recorded tracks. To erase the
recorded contents, see “Erasing recordings” on
page 45.
To turn on the system, press ?/1 (power).
