Transferring stops before it is
finished.
The communication speed of the USB device is extremely slow. Connect a
USB device that this system can play.
If the transferring and erasing operations are repeated multiple times, the file
structure within the USB device becomes complex. Follow the procedure in the
operating instructions of the USB device to format the USB device. If the
problem persists, contact your nearest Sony dealer.
The USB device is full.
• The number of audio files and folders on the USB device has reached the upper
limit.
Transferring to a USB device
results in an error.
• The USB device was disconnected or the power was turned off during erasing.
Delete the partially-erased file. If this does not fix the problem, the USB device
may be broken. Follow the procedure in the operating instructions of the USB
device to format the USB device. If the problem persists, contact your nearest
Sony dealer.
Check if the USB device is write-protected.
Audio files or folders on the
USB device cannot be erased.
Symptom Problems and solutions
Radio stations cannot be tuned
in.
Check that the antenna (aerial) is connected securely. Adjust the antenna
(aerial) or connect an external antenna (aerial) if necessary.
The signal strength of the stations is too weak (when tuning in with automatic
tuning). Use direct tuning.
FM reception is poor. • Use a 75-ohm coaxial cable (not supplied) to connect the unit to an outdoor FM
antenna (aerial).
RDS does not work properly. • The station you are tuned to is not transmitting the RDS signal properly, or the
signal strength is weak.
Symptom Problems and solutions
There is no sound or noise is
heard from the S-AIR sub unit,
or sound skips.
• If you use another S-AIR main unit, place it more than 8 m (about 25 feet) away
from the other S-AIR main unit you are using.
Place the S-AIR main unit and S-AIR sub unit closer together.
Avoid use of equipment that generates electromagnetic energy, such as a
microwave oven.
Place the S-AIR main unit and S-AIR sub unit away from other wireless
devices.
See “If wireless transmission is unstable” (page 56).
Change the S-AIR ID settings of the S-AIR main unit and S-AIR sub unit.
Turn off the system and S-AIR sub unit, then turn them on.
The S-AIR function on the
system menu cannot be operated.
Check that the wireless transceiver is inserted into the unit correctly (page 53).
