Programming Menu Instructions
Source Command Key Configuration Procedure (Optional)
This procedure allows you to redefine command key functions for each source. Each of the seven command keys can be customized for
two functions: a “press” function and a “press-and-hold” function. For example, since there is no Eject key on the keypad, you can assign
an eject function to a press-and-hold operation of the Stop key for a CD player. Or you can assign a function for dimming the room lights
to a press-and-hold operation of the Play key for a DVD player. See Source Key Configuration Procedure flow chart on page 47.
To begin the Source Key Configuration Procedure, select SOURCE SETUP from the Programming Menu top level and press . At
BASIC SETUP, press Next once. At KEY CONFIG, press Play .
1. SOURCE NUM – Select and enter the source the key will be configured for.
2. SELECT A KEY – Press or to select a key to be configured. Press to enter your selection.
3. KEY TYPE – Select and enter Key Press, Key Hold or Both for the operation that will activate the function.
4. KEY NAME – Select and enter a label to appear on the keypad display when the function is activated.
5. COMMAND TYPE – Select and enter a command type for the device. Choose one of the following options:
a. Select and enter Default to use the same command type previously selected for the source in BASIC SETUP.
i. KEY FUNCTION – Select and enter the function you want the key to perform.
b. Select and enter Learned IR if the IR device code library doesn’t support the device. (See Learn IR Procedure on
page 25.)
i. LEARNED SRC – Select and enter the Learned Source location assigned to the device.
ii. KEY FUNCTION – Select and enter the function you want the key to perform.
c. Select and enter a specific device (e.g., CD, TV) to use an IR device code from the built-in library.
i. DEVICE CODE – Select and enter the source’s IR device code number from the Reference section of this manual.
ii. KEY FUNCTION – Select and enter the function you want the key to perform.
