Note: While checking speaker pink noise, press
SOUND to adjust
the channel balance. See “Adjusting the Sound” on Page 12.
RATING Setting
Password/Parental Lock
DVD discs equipped with a password function are rated according to
their content. The contents allowed by a parental lock level and the
way a DVD disc can be controlled may vary from disc to disc. For
example, if the disc allowed, you could edit out violent scenes
unsuitable for children and replace them with more suitable scenes,
or you could lock out disc playback altogether.
1. Press
SETUP.
2. Use
d, e, f or g to select Rating, and press ENTER.
3. Use
d, e, f or g to select Parental Lock.
4. Press
ENTER repeatedly to set the parental lock level.
5. Use
d, e, f or g to select Yes, and press ENTER.
6. If you make a mistake before pressing
ENTER, press CLEAR
and enter your 4-digit security code again.
You cannot play DVD discs rated higher than the level you select
unless you cancel the parental lock function. The parental lock level
is equivalent to the following ratings.
Level 1: Kid Safe
Level 2: G
Level 3: PG
Level 4: PG_13
Level 5: PG_R
Level 6: R
Level 7: NC_17
Level 8: Adult
7. To exit and return to the normal screen, press
RETURND.
I — Select when you activate the parental lock feature or change
the settings.
> — Parental lock is active.
If you forget the password, you can erase your current password by
pressing
8 four times on the remote, and press ENTER to confirm
the setting.
Factory Set
If you want to return the setting to the factory default, do the
following:
1. Press
SETUP.
2. Use
d, e, f or g to select Rating, and press ENTER.
3. Use
d, e, f or g to select Factory Set, and press ENTER.
4. Use
d, e, f or g to select Setting, and press ENTER. The unit
returns to the initial, default setting.
5. To exit and return to the normal screen, press
RETURND.
