To enter a low alarm or high alarm limit, type INP S. Each of the input items should be given a low set
point, below which the Messenger 570 system will be activated and send alarm messages, and a high set
point, conversely above which the system will be activated.
When adding data at the “Enter New Value” prompt, please note that the range depends on the input type
as well as the bottom and top of scale definitions.
To disable the low alarm, set it equal to the bottom of scale parameter. To disable the high alarm, set it
equal to the top of scale parameter.

Response Time
Each of the input channels can be given a response time. This time determines how long an alarm condition
must exist before it is recognized as an alarm. Type INP S and choose the input you want to modify from
the menu. A second menu will be given listing all parameters associated with that input. Choose Response
Time and enter the desired response time. The response time can range from 0 second to 10,000 seconds
(about one week). The response time only applies to alarm set points.
