Attenuating the Input Signal
When the input level of the playing source is too high, the sounds
will be distorted. If this happens, you need to attenuate the input
signal level to prevent sound distortion.
You have to make this setting for each source.
On the unit ONLY:
Press INPUT ATT (inside the front
door).
Each time you press the button, the input
attenuator mode turns on (“INPUT ATT ON”) or
off (“INPUT ATT OFF”).
When the input attenuator is on, the INPUT ATT indicator also
lights up.
Notes:
This effect is applied to only the sources connected to the analog
terminals.
This function is not valid for the DVD MULTI playback mode.
Muting the Sound
From the remote control ONLY:
Press MUTING to mute the sound
through all speakers and headphones
connected.
“MUTING” appears on the display and the volume
turns off (the volume level indicator goes off).
To restore the sound, press MUTING again so that “MUTING
OFF” appears on the display for a while.
Turning MASTER VOLUME on the unit or pressing VOLUME
+/– on the remote control also restores the sound.
Turning Line Direct On and Off
You can enjoy the sound closer to original source by skipping the
sound adjustments such as Midnight mode (see page 31), speaker
output level adjustments (see page 37) and Parametric Equalizer (see
page 37). You can only adjust the volume level while Line Direct is
in use.
You have to make this setting for each source.
Press LINE DIRECT.
Each time you press the button, Line Direct turns on and off.
When Line Direct turns on, “LINE DIRECT” appears in the
main display.
Notes:
If you turn on Line Direct while using the Surround and DSP
modes, the effect changes as follows:
If you turn on Line Direct, CC Converter (see page 22) is canceled.
Turning off Line Direct activates the sound adjustments previously
selected such as Midnight mode, speaker output level adjustments
and Parametric Equalizer.
If you turn off Line Direct while listening to an analog source,
muting time* will be a little longer. (* The period during which no
sound comes out.)
