[SPEAKER FORMATION]
Depending on the shape of the room, you cannot
install some speakers. For tile better surround
sound, Sony recommends that first you decide
the position of the speakers.
1 Press FUNCTION +/- repeatedly until
"DVD" appears in the front panel
display.
2 Press G DISPLAY while the system is
in stop mode.
The Cor, trol Menu display appears ,.m the
TV screen.
3 Press'pit, to select _ [SETUP],
then press Q.
Tile options for [SETUP] appear.
4 Press,Pit, to select [CUSTOM], then
press C).
The Setup Display appears.
5 Press,Pit, to select [AUDIO SETUP],
then press Q.
The options for [AUDIO SETUP] appear.
6 Press,Pit, to select [SPEAKER
FORMATION], then press _.
Tile options for [SPEAKER
FORMATION] appear.

STANDARD
• [NO (?ENTER]: Select this when you
install the h'ont and surround speakers
only.
• [NO SURROUND]: Select this when you
install the center and fronl speakers only.
• [FRONT ONLY]: Selecl this when yon
install the front speakers only.
• [,ALL FRONT]: Select this when you
install all the speakers in front of the
listening position.
• [ALL FRONT - NO CENTER]: Select
this when you inslall the front and
sunxmnd speakers in front of the lislening
posilion.
8 Press (_.
The setting is made and the confirmation
display appears.
9 Press ('-/-')to select [YES] or [NO], then
press _.
• [YES]: Continue with [AUTO
CALIBRATION]. Follow tile procedure
lrom Step 7 ol "Calibrating the
Appropriale Settings Automatically"
(page 90).
• [NO]: Exit [SPEAKER FORMATION].
• Inorder Ioenjoy the sunound SOUlldafter you change
the position of the speakers, Sony recommends you
set [SPEAKER FORMATION], and then sel [AUTO
CALIBRATION] (page 90).
• When you change the [CONNECTION] setting ill
[SPEAKER SETUP[ (page 73), the [SPEAKER
FORMATION] setting returns to [STANDARD].
