Level measurement
The MSK 33 is designed for the level measurements on receiving systems in the
measuring range of 30 dBµV to 130 dBµV. The level measurement is automati-
cally carried out after connecting the unit and setting a frequency and is displayed
on the display screen. The table shown below represents a brief overview of the
measurement possibilities of the MSK 33.

Maximal input level
The maximal measurable input level of a carrier, which can be measured with the
MSK 33, is 130 dBµV. If a system with several carriers or programmes is meas-
ured, the maximal total capacity of all carriers determines the admissible input
level. The fed-in total capacity on the RF socket of the MSK 33 may not exceed
0.5 W.
The following table serves to approximately determine the maximal total capacity.
It only applies, if all the carriers contain the same level. When the carriers are dou-
bled, the maximal input level of the MSK 33 is reduced by 3 dB, refer to the table
below.
Number of the fed-
in carriers
Reduction
Maximal input level, if all carriers con-
tain the same level
4 TV programmes 129 dBµV
9 TV programmes -3 dB 126 dBµV
18 TV programmes -6 dB 123 dBµV
36 TV programmes -9 dB 120 dBµV
Exceeding the maximal input level may damage the input stages or the unit!
Intermodulation and overcontrol effects can occur for each maximal admis-
sible assignment!
