Bass out LFE/BASS OUT
Use this feature to select the speakers that output the LFE
(low-frequency effect) and the low-frequency signals.
Choices: SWFR, FRNT, BOTH
• Select “SWFR” (subwoofer) if you connected a
subwoofer. The LFE signals as well as the low-
frequency signals of other speakers set to “SML” (or
“SMALL”) or to “NONE” are directed to the
subwoofer.
• Select “FRNT” (front) if you did not connect a
subwoofer. The LFE signals, the low-frequency signals
of the front left and right channels, and the low-
frequency signals of other speakers set to “SML” (or
“SMALL”) or to “NONE” are all directed to the front
left and right speakers regardless of the “FRONT SP”
setting (see page 86).
• Select “BOTH” (both) if you connected a subwoofer.
The low-frequency signals of any source are output
from the subwoofer. The LFE signals as well as the
low-frequency signals of other speakers set to “SML”
(or “SMALL”) or to “NONE” are directed to the
subwoofer. The low-frequency signals of the front left
and right channels are directed to the front left and
right speakers and the subwoofer regardless of the
“FRONT SP” setting (see page 86).
Crossover CROSS OVER
Use this feature to select a crossover frequency of all the
speakers set to “SML” (or “SMALL”) or to “NONE” in
“SPEAKER SET” (see pages 86 and 87). All frequencies
below the selected frequency will be sent to the subwoofer
or to the speakers set to “LRG” (or “LARGE”) in
“SPEAKER SET” (see pages 86 and 87).
Choices: 40Hz, 60Hz, 80Hz, 90Hz, 100Hz, 110Hz,
120Hz, 160Hz, 200Hz
Subwoofer phase SUBWOOFER PHASE
Use this feature to switch the phase of your subwoofer if
bass sounds are lacking or unclear.
Choices: NORMAL, REVERSE
• Select “NORMAL” if you do not want to reverse the
phase of your subwoofer.
• Select “REVERSE” to reverse the phase of your
subwoofer.
Presence/Surround back channel priority
PRIORITY
Use this feature to prioritize either the presence or the
surround back speakers when playing sources that contain
surround back channel signals using the CINEMA DSP
sound field programs.
Choices: PRch, SBch
• Select “PRch” to use the presence speakers even when
surround back channel signals are input. The signals
for the surround back channel will be output from the
surround speakers.
• Select “SBch” to use the surround back speakers when
a surround back channel signals is detected in a
CINEMA DSP program. The presence channel signals
are output from the front speakers.
