The F6 remote control handset
General information:
The F6 is an infra-red remote control handset which is
capable of controlling all the components of the M 820
system.
The M-system’s remote control sensor is positioned in
the screen area, so please ensure that you set up the
equipment in a position where there is direct visual con-
tact between the integral screen and the F6 remote con-
trol transmitter. The range of the handset is 6 metres.
When you press a remote control button, the red monitor
LED in the top part of the front panel glows. If the LED
does not light up, or only very weakly, the batteries are
exhausted and must be replaced.
Notes:
The strip of insulation in the battery compartment
must be removed before use!
Rechargeable batteries can be used instead of dry cells.
Changing the batteries:
To open the battery compartment cover undo the latch
by pressing it in, then lift off the cover. Place three cells
of the LR 03 (AAA) size in the battery compartment,
following the polarity diagram marked there. All three
cells should always be changed at the same time.
Caution:
If you had previously set the handset to work on
Address 2, you will need to set it again after fitting new
batteries (see next section).
Note: disposing of exhausted batteries:
Used batteries must not be thrown away as ordinary
domestic waste! They must be handed back to the
supplier (shop) or taken to your local toxic waste disposal
centre, which will recycle them or dispose of them safely.
All local authorities are obliged to make collection points
available for such items, or provide collection vehicles for
old batteries.
Changing the remote control address
The M-system is controlled using infra-red control
signals. Since there is a limited number of codes
available, it can occasionally happen that the signals will
overlap with those of the remote handset for another
piece of equipment. For this reason it is possible to
switch the M-system and the F6 handset to an alternative
remote control address.
Note:
The M-system and the F6 remote control handset must
always be set to the same remote control address!
F6 - Changing the RC address:
To switch the remote control address hold the
button and numeric button
pressed in simul-
taneously. After about 10 seconds the LED will start
flashing.
Pressing numeric button
will now set the remote
control handset to the normal RC address, while
pressing numeric button
sets it to the alternative
level. The LED will go out to confirm that you have
completed the change.
If you remove the batteries from the F6 remote control
handset for longer than 10 minutes, or if the cells are flat,
then the F6 handset will always be set to RC address 1
when you fit the batteries again.
M-system - switching the RC address:
When you switch on the system, wait until the
symbol
on the screen stops flashing.
Now hold the
button on the front panel pressed
in until a running script appears on the screen.
While the script is running, press the
button on
the front panel. This switches the system to the alter-
native remote control address, and displays the new
address on the screen: '
RC-ADR1
RC-ADR1RC-ADR1
RC-ADR1
' or '
RC-ADR2
RC-ADR2RC-ADR2
RC-ADR2
'.
