Special pre-amplifier functions
Pre-amplifier settings which seldom need to be changed
are controlled using a special function menu. The
following special functions are available:
• Balance setting (BALANCE)
• Tone control, bass (BASS)
• Tone control, treble (TREBLE)
• Tone controls, On / Off (TONE)
• Volume-dependent tone control On / Off
(LOUDNESS)
Note:
(only for systems including the DD 820 M decoder)
The special functions which are described in the next
section are functions of the analogue stereo pre-amplifier
in the PT 820 M. They are only effective when the sur-
round decoder is switched off, i. e. in direct stereo mode.
In surround mode these settings are adjusted on the
DD 820 M.
Direct stereo mode is indicated on the screen by the
'DIRECT STEREO' symbol.
Menu control system
The menu is controlled using the following buttons on the
remote control handset:
Opens the pre-amplifier Special Functions
menu.
Selects the menu point.
Changes or selects within the menu points.
Activates the function shown on the screen.
Closes the menu.
Note:
If you are using the F1 system remote
control handset the menu can also be
opened by operating the
rocker.

situations where the speakers are not set up sym-
metrically.

buttons in the sequence stated above. The screen
displays the current balance setting of the pre-amplifier,

The current setting can now be shifted left or right in
discrete steps using the
