Problems and remedies (continued)
Play does not start from the first track.
The player is in Program Play or Shuffle Play
mode. Press PLAY MODE/DIRECTION on the
remote repeatedly until “1 DISC” or “ALL
DISCS” appears.
Resume Play has been selected. When the
playback is stopped, press x, then start DVD
playback (page 17).
The title, DVD, or PBC menu automatically
appears on the TV screen. Follow the
instructions on the TV screen.
The MP3 audio track cannot be played.
The DATA CD is not recorded in the MP3
format that conforms to ISO9660 Level 1/ Level
2 or Joliet.
The MP3 audio track does not have the extension
“.MP3.”
The data is not formatted in MP3 even though it
has the extension “.MP3”.
The data is not MPEG1 Audio Layer 3 data.
The player cannot play audio tracks in MP3PRO
format.
The title of the MP3 audio album or track is not
correctly displayed.
The player can only display numbers and
alphabet. Other characters are displayed as
spaces.

Playback starts automatically.
The DVD features an auto playback function.
Refer to the operating instructions supplied with
the disc.
Playback stops automatically.
Some discs may contain an auto pause signal.
While playing such a disc, the playback stops at
the auto pause signal. Refer to the operating
instructions supplied with the disc.
You cannot perform some functions such as
Stop, Scan, Slow-motion Play, Repeat Play,
Shuffle Play, or Program Play.
Depending on the disc, you may not be able to
do some of the operations described above. Refer
to the operating instructions supplied with the
disc.
Messages do not appear on the screen in the
language you want.
Select the language you want for the on-screen
display in “OSD” under “LANGUAGE SETUP”
in the Setup Display (page 27).
The language for the sound track cannot be
changed.
Multilingual tracks are not recorded on the DVD
being played.
The DVD prohibits changing the language for
the sound track. Refer to the operating
instructions supplied with the disc.
The subtitle language cannot be changed.
Multilingual subtitles are not recorded on the
DVD being played.
The DVD prohibits changing the subtitles. Refer
to the operating instructions supplied with the
disc.
The subtitle cannot be turned off.
The DVD prohibits turning off subtitles. Refer to
the operating instructions supplied with the disc.
The angles cannot be changed.
Multi-angles are not recorded on the DVD being
played. The angle can be changed only when the
“ANGLE” indicator lights up on the front panel
display (page 36).
The DVD prohibits changing the angles. Refer to
the operating instructions supplied with the disc.
