RS-232 Communications Port Information
The RS-232 connection allows external devices to control the SR-H2000 Tuner.
This only works with compatible control systems that have driver software
designed to work with the SIRIUS protocol. Please visit the SIRIUS website for an
up-to-date list of compatible systems.
You must enable RS232 control via the menu options. Refer to “RS232 Mode”
on page 88 for instructions. Once the Tuner is in RS232 control mode, you will
see “232” in the lower-right corner of the display. Since the Tuner is now being
controlled via the RS-232 connection, only a limited number of front panel and
remote control buttons will work when in the RS232 mode. To exit the RS232
mode, and regain full control via the front panel and remote control, press the
MENU button.
Note that a null modem adapter may be required to connect the SR-H2000
Tuner to your control system. Please consult your system’s user guide for more
information.
Adding an Additional SIRIUS Tuner Using the SSP Connection
An additional SIRIUS Tuner can be added using the SSP connection to enable
you to set up a zone system to receive different SIRIUS programming in different
rooms of your home.
The SCH1 and the SCHDOC1 Tuners are optional accessories designed to work with
the SR-H2000 Tuner. Refer to the SIRIUS website for more information about
these tuners (www.sirius.com).
