Using the Remote Control
VCR Function Buttons (continued)
Numbers (0 through 9)
Select a channel up to 99Ñpress two
numbers.
Select a cable channel over 99Ñpress
and hold 1 until 1-- appears on the
screen. Then, press the other two
numbers.
PAUSE
Pauses action for viewing during
playback.
Pauses recording to prevent recording
of unwanted scenes.
PLAY
Plays a tape.
PWR (Power)
Turns off VCR when remote is set to
control the VCR.
Press twice to turn off all compatible
RCA components.
PREV CH (Previous Channel)
Switches between two channels.
Select one channel and then select
another. Press PREV CH to switch
between the two channels.
REC (Record)
Starts the VCR recording.
Used for express recording.
REW (Rewind)
Rewinds the tape when the VCR is
stopped.
Searches a tape in reverse motion
during playback.
SEARCH
Displays the INDEX, ZERO, and
BLANK search menus on the TV.
Used during playback with the
COMMERCIAL
ADVANCEª
feature.
SLOW +/–
Used for slow-motion playback.
SPEED (Tape Speed)
Selects a recording speed
(SP or SLP).
STOP
Stops the VCRÕs normal functions such
as record, playback, rewind, fast
forward, and pause.
TRACKING Up or Down
Reduces the streaks that may appear
on the picture during play, slow, or
pause.
Reduces picture ÒjitterÓ during stop-
action playback.
TV•VCR
Switches the picture signal so
that it either comes from the VCR or
the TV channel. See ÒStartupÓ section.
CHAN (Channel) Up or Down
Selects next higher or lower channel in
the TVÕs channel memory when
remote is set to control a TV.
CLEAR
Removes menus or status displays
from the screen.
DISPLAY
Shows the status displays on the
screen.
Removes menus or displays from the
screen.
MENU•PROG
Selects the TVÕs main menu.
MUTE
Turns the TV sound on or off.
MOVE Arrow Buttons
Allow you to move through the
menus, enter data, and change settings
of selected features.
