9.3 COMPRESSOR AND LIMITER THRESHOLD UNIT
This function allows setting the unit of the compressor and limiter threshold.
Volts:
The threshold value is displayed in volts.
dBu (0.775 V):
The threshold value is displayed in dBu (0dBu = 0.775V).
dB from Clip:
Threshold setting in dB relative to full modulation.
(0 dB = full modulation).
9.4 VU LEVEL METER DISPLAY MODE
Normal fast:
The peak hold function is off; the levels are displayed with a short drop rate of approximately 600 dB/s.
Peak hold:
The peak hold function is on for a more convenient level setting.
Slow decay:
With this setting, levels are displayed with a long drop rate of approximately 60 dB/s; i. e.: with lower signal
levels the meter instruments drop slower.
9.5 EDIT PROTECTION
The DSP 244 offers the possibility for edit-protection. Once this protection mode is enabled, internal
settings cannot be altered unless the required code-number is entered first. In this way, the appliance is
effectively protected against inadvertent or faulty operation.
NOTE:
The rotary controls INPUT 1 / 2 and OUTPUT 1-4 are analog level controls. Edit protection does not
restrain the functioning of these controls. Secure the front panel using the PA 1 Plexiglas cover to prevent
inadvertent erroneous operation.
To activate edit-protection, you have to select the “LOCK CODE” page in the OPTION mode. Use the
rotary encoder to enter your personal password code-number. Acknowledge your entry by pressing the
STORE key.
