■ DRC value
Dynamic range is the decibel (dB) range between the
highest and lowest sounds in a broadcast. Some DAB
broadcasters transmit a wide dynamic range (enabling high
quality sound), accompanied by Dynamic Range Control
(DRC) data. The DRC can be used to compress the dynamic
range of the broadcast, making softer sounds easier to hear.
This is especially useful when listening to a DAB service in
a noisy environment or at a low volume (such as at night).
There are three values of DRC you can apply.
1 Press FUNCTION/FM MODE while listening to
a DAB broadcast.
2 Rotate MULTI JOG (or press PRESET on the
remote control) until “DRC value” is
displayed.
3 Press MULTI JOG (or ENTER on the remote
control).
4 Rotate MULTI JOG (or press PRESET on the
remote control) to select the desired DRC
level.
5 Press MULTI JOG (or ENTER on the
remote control).
