1 Place the player on a flat place with the
embossed “QUALIA 017” facing up, and
then push down the OPEN lever slightly
to open the player lid.
2 Push down on the part of the arrow
shown below to open the lid wider.
3 Set the BUILT-IN BATTERY switch located
inside the right side of the player in the
direction of the arrow.
4 Remove the two screws from the player
as shown below.
5 Turn the player over with the embossed
“SONY” facing up. Then move the bottom
in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
6 Remove the black insulating sheet.
7 Remove the built-in rechargeable battery
in the battery holder.
8 Attach a piece of insulating tape over the
power supply board connector.
