Recording is not possible.
/
The MD is protected against erasure (“Protected”
appears).
Slide the tab to close the slot.
/The unit is not connected properly to the sound
source.
Make connections properly to the sound source.
/The recording level is not adjusted properly (in case
of input through LINE (ANALOG) IN).
Turn REC LEVEL to adjust the recording level
properly.
/A premastered MD is inserted.
Replace it with a recordable MD.
/There is not enough time left on the MD.
Replace it with another recordable MD with fewer
recorded tracks, or erase unnecessary tracks.
/There has been a power failure or the AC power
cord has been disconnected during recording. Data
recorded to that point may be lost.
Repeat the recording procedure.
The sound has a lot of static.

Strong magnetism from a television or a similar
device is interfering with operations.
Move the unit away from the source of strong
magnetism.
General
There is no sound.
/
Plug in the connecting cords firmly.
/Operate the amplifier properly.
/When connecting the headphones, PHONES LEVEL
control is adjusted almost at MIN.
Turn PHONES LEVEL clockwise to increase the
sound level.
The remote does not function.
/
There is an obstacle between the remote and the
unit.
Remove the obstacle.
/Point the remote at the remote sensor g on the unit.
/The batteries have run down.
Replace both batteries.
Note
If the unit does not operate properly even after you have
attempted the prescribed remedies, turn off the power, then
reinsert the plug into the power outlet.
