Using the on-screen display
to search for a title/chapter/
scene/track/index/album/le
You can search by dierent information
recorded on a disc, such as title, track,
and album. Each item is assigned a
unique number on the disc, and you can
select the numbered item you want from
the Control Menu. You can also search
for a particular point using the time code
(Time Search) (DVD VIDEO and DVD-
R/-RW in VR mode only).

Press DISPLAY
. (When
playing a DATA CD/DVD
with JPEG image les, press
DISPLAY
twice.)
e Control Menu appears on the TV
screen.

repeatedly to
select the search item.
Example: when you select
(CHAPTER)
“** (**)” is selected (** refers to a
number). e number in parentheses
indicates the total number of titles,
chapters, tracks, indexes, scenes,
albums or les.

or the numeric buttons

select the title, track, album, etc.

If you make a mistake, press
CLEAR
to cancel the number.

e system starts playback from the
selected title, track, album, etc.
To turn o the Control Menu
Press DISPLAY
repeatedly until
the Control Menu disappears.
Tip
When the Control Menu display is turned o,
you can search for a chapter (DVD VIDEO and
DVD-R/-RW in VR mode) or track (AUDIO
CD and VIDEO CD) by pressing the numeric
buttons
and ENTER
.
To search for a particular point using
the time code Time Search
(DVD VIDEO and DVD-R/-RW in VR
mode only)

Press DISPLAY

repeatedly to select
(TIME/TEXT).
“T **:**:**” (elapsed playing time of
the current title) is selected.

Press ENTER
.
“T **:**:**” changes to “T--:--:--.”

Input the time code using the
numeric buttons
, then press
ENTER
.
For example, to nd the scene at 2
hours, 10 minutes, and 20 seconds
aer the beginning, enter “2:10:20.”
If you make a mistake, press
CLEAR
to cancel the number.
Note
Depending on the disc, you cannot perform
Time Search.
