Reading the Display:
Convert the hexadecimal display into binary display. If more than two causes, they will be added.
Example When 84 is displayed:
Higher bit: 8 = 1000 n b7
Lower bit : 4 = 0100 n b2
In this case, as b2 and b7 are 1 and others are 0, it can be determined that the retry cause is combined of “emphasis OFF”, “monaural”,
“original”, “copyright exists”, and “write allowed”.
Example When 07 is displayed:
Higher bit: 0 = 1000 n All 0
Lower bit : 7 = 0111 n b0+b1+b2
In this case, as b0, b1, and b2 are 1 and others are 0, it can be determined that the retry cause is combined of “emphasis ON”, “stereo”,
“original”, “copyright exists”, and “write prohibited”.
