! After turning theF.I.E. functionon, use the bal-
ance adjustment (referto page 30) and adjust
front and rear speaker volume levels until they
are balanced.
! Turn the F.I.E.function off when using a 2-
speaker system.
Adjusting source levels
SLA (source level adjustment) lets you adjust
the volume level of each source to prevent ra-
dical changes in volume when switching be-
tween sources.
! Settings are based on the FM tuner volume
level, which remains unchanged.
1 Compare the FM tuner volume level
with the level of the source you wish to ad-
just.
2 Press AUDIO to select SLA.
Press AUDIO until SLA appears in the display.
3 Press a or b to adjust the source vo-
lume.
Each press of a or b increases or decreases
the source volume.
SLA: +4 SLA: 4 is displayed as the source
volume is increased or decreased.
Notes
! Since the FM tuner volume is the control,it is
not possible to apply source leveladjustments
to the FM tuner.
! The AM tuner volume level can also bead-
justed with source leveladjustments.
! The built-in CD playerand the multi-CD player
are set to thesame source level adjustment
volume automatically.
! External unit 1 andexternal unit 2 are set to
the same source leveladjustment volume
automatically.
