Combining tracks
(Combine function)
The Combine function enables you to
combine two adjacent tracks into one. You
cannot, however, combine a digital track and
an analog track. You cannot combine two
tracks that were recorded in different
recording modes, either. For example, you
cannot combine a track recorded in MONO
mode and a track recorded in LP2 mode.
This function is available while the recorder is
stopped, paused, or playing.
5 Divide the track.
Press the MULTI JOG knob to divide the
track.
If a track with a name is divided into two
parts, the former part takes over the name
and the latter part is left without a name.
When the dividing of the track is
complete, Complete appears on the

Tip:
The numbers of the tracks following the
divided track will be increased by one.
(For example, if you divide track 2 into
two, the latter part of the track will
become as track 3. Track 3 will be
renumbered as Track 4, Track 4 will be
renumbered as Track 5, and so on.)
To erase parts of a track, first divide the
track in parts, then erase the parts.
(Refer to pages 52 and 53 for more
information on erasing the tracks.)
Note:
While the TOC indicator is lit or flashing, do not
move or unplug the MD recorder.

The selected track will be combined
with the previous track.
If both of the combined tracks have
names, the previous tracks name will
be used for the new track.
If only the previous track has a name,
the name will be used for the new
track.
If only the latter track has a name, the
new track will not have a name.
