Muting the audio tempo-
rarily (MUTE)
The audio being played can be muted tem-
porarily.
Main unit only

Press the AUX key to select the
AUX input.

Play the connected AUX compo-
nent to check the volume.

Press the MENU key.

Rotate the VOLUME/MULTI-CON-
TROL knob so that "AUX INPUT?"
is displayed, then press the SET
key.

Rotate the VOLUME/MULTI-CON-
TROL knob to fine adjust the in-
put level, then press the SET key.
The input level can be adjusted in the
range between -5 and +2.
Adjusting the AUX input
level
The input level from an AUX component con-
nected to the AUX IN jacks (MD player, ana-
log turntable, VCR, etc.) can be adjusted. It
is recommended to adjust it so that the AUX
input sounds at a similar volume to the built-
in CD and MD.
Remote control unit only
Press the MUTE key to switch
muting on or off.
The display blinks.
÷ The MUTE function is canceled when the
volume is controlled while MUTE is ON.
