To select the display illumination pattern
LCD Type
You can select the display illumination patterns
according to your preference.
Auto: Positive pattern will be selected
during the day time (depending on
the Dimmer setting); on the other
hand, negative pattern will be used
during the night time (depending on
the Dimmer setting).
Positive: Positive (normal) pattern of the
display.
Negative: Negative pattern of the display.
To select the font on the display
Font Type
You can change the font types used on the
display. Select either 1 or 2 according to your
preference.
To turn the tag display on or offTag
An MP3 and WMA track can contain track
information called Tag where its album name,
performer, track title, etc. are recorded.
On: Turns on the Tag display while playing
MP3 or WMA tracks.
If a track does not have Tags, folder
name and track name appear.
Off: Turns off the Tag display while playing
MP3 or WMA tracks. (Only the folder
name and track name appear.)
Notes:
If you change the setting from “Off” to “On” while
playing a track, the tag display will be activated
when the next track starts playing.
For MP3 tracks only: There are two versions—ID3v1
(ID3 Tag version 1) and ID3v2 (ID3 Tag version 2).
When both ID3v1 and ID3v2 are recorded, ID3v2
will be shown.
To change the FM tuner selectivity
IF Filter
In some areas, adjacent stations may interfere
with each other. If this interference occurs, noise
may be heard.
Auto: When this type of interference occurs,
this unit automatically increases the
tuner selectivity so that interference
noise will be reduced. (But the stereo
effect will also be lost.)
Wide: Subject to the interference from adjacent
stations, but sound quality will not be
degraded and the stereo effect will not
be lost.
To turn on/off the key-touch toneBeep
You can deactivate the key-touch tone if you do
not want it to beep each time you press a button.
On: Activates the key-touch tone.
Off: Deactivates the key-touch tone.
To select the telephone muting
Telephone
This mode is used when a cellular phone system
is connected. Depending on the phone system
used, select either Muting1 or Muting2,
whichever mutes the sounds from this unit.
Muting1: Selects this if this setting can mute
the sounds when using the cellular
phone.
Muting2: Selects this if this setting can mute
the sounds when using the cellular
phone.
Off: Cancels the telephone muting.
To turn on/off the line input switch
Line In
You can switch off the line input when no external
component is connected to the LINE IN plugs.
On: You can select LINE IN as the playback
source.
Off: You cannot select LINE IN as the
playback source.
To turn on/off the power amplifier switch
PowerAmp
You can switch off the built-in amplifier and send
the audio signals only to the external amplifier(s) to
get clear sounds and to prevent internal heat buildup
inside this unit.
On: When not using external amplifier(s).
Off: When using external amplifier(s).
