Press the SURROUND button to select the
surround mode.
The surround mode switches as shown below each
time the SURROUND button is pressed.

Start playback on the selected component.
The volume can be adjusted within the range –60 to 0 to
+18 dB. Note that depending on the input signal, surround
mode, speaker settings and channel level setting, it may not
be possible to adjust the volume up to +18 dB.
Function setting

Press the FUNCTION button on the main unit,
and DVD, TUNER or AUX button on the remote
control unit to select the input function to be
played.
The function switches as shown below.
When the FUNCTION button on the main unit is pressed:

When the AUX button on the remote control unit is

iPod, USB and Portable are only displayed and
selectable when the corresponding components is
connected.

Press the STATUS button.
The current program source and surround settings are shown
on the display each time the button is pressed.

When “STEREO” is selected:
Press the SURROUND PARAMETER button,
then press the CURSOR 0 or 1 button to set.
DIRECT ON OFF
DIRECT MODE:
ON:
The analog input signals are played without DSP processing.
The settings made at “DISTANCE” under “SETUP” (
page 54) are not reflected.
OFF:
The analog input signals are converted into digital signals and
undergo DSP processing.
The “DIRECT MODE” only functions with analog inputs and
in the stereo mode.
