Connect the included iPod cable directly to the iPod.
(Do not connect the ADV-S301 with the Dock.)
Connect the ADV-S301 with the iPod with the marked side of
the connector facing up.
Connecting the iPod
Music on your iPod can be played by connecting the iPod to the
ADV-S301’s iPod connector. The iPod can also be controlled with
the buttons on the remote control unit and on the main unit.

Connect to the ADV-S301’s iPod
connector in this direction.
Connect the ADV-S301 and iPod using the
included iPod cable.
•Turn the iPod’s power on.

Press the FUNCTION button on the main unit or
AUX button on the remote control unit to select
“IN iPod”.
IN iPod
Turn on the TV’s power. Set the TV’s input
function to the ADV-S301 input.

NOTE:
•With the S-301, only iPod equipped with an iPod Dock
connector port can be operated with the S-301’s remote
control unit and the buttons on the main unit. If your iPod is
not equipped with an iPod Dock connector port, see
“Playing a portable audio” ( page 30). In this case it is
not possible to operate using the S-301’s remote control
unit and the buttons on the main unit, but it is possible to
play the tracks on the iPod.
If the screen in step 3 is not displayed, the iPod may not be
properly connected. Reconnect it.
The maximum battery charge output from the iPod
connector is 8 W.

Use the CURSOR

and ENTER buttons to
display the list of tracks.
Press the ENTER button to play.
The display can be switched between title name, album
title, artist name, the elapsed time and the remaining time
by pressing the DISPLAY button.

Depending on your iPod’s software version, it may not be
possible to control your iPod from the S-301. We recommend
installing the latest software version.

buttons
operate when in the “Remote iPod” mode.
In the browse mode, when “Songs” is selected from the “TOP
MENU” while a track is playing, the track stops.
In the “Remote iPod” mode, when the MENU button on the
remote control unit is pressed for 2 seconds to turn the
backlight off, the backlight may turn back on, depending on the
timing at which the button is released.
When in the “Remote iPod” mode, the

button on the
remote control unit functions as the

button.
