Getting Started
Sound Adjustment
Adjusting the tone parameter (STR-DE715/
DE615/D660Z/D560Z only)
Adjust the tone (bass or treble) of the front, center and
rear speakers for optimum sound. You can adjust the
tone of all sounds fields, including Dolby Surround.
1 Press DPC MODE repeatedly until the TONE
indicator lights up.
2 Use the digital processing control buttons ( /
) to select BASS or TREBLE.
3 Use the digital processing control buttons ( /
) to adjust the tone level.
The adjusted tone level is stored automatically.
z You can turn off the tone adjustments without
erasing them
The tone adjustments and on/off setting are stored
separately for each sound field. Press DPC MODE
repeatedly to turn off the TONE indicator.
Adjusting the delay time (STR-DE715/
DE615/D660Z/D560Z only)
You can make the surround sound more effective by
delaying the output from the rear speakers (delay
time). You can select a delay time of 15, 20, and 30 ms.
Set a short delay time when the rear speakers are
located in a large room or far from your listening
position.
1 Start playing a program source encoded with
Dolby surround sound.
2 Press DPC MODE repeatedly until the SUR
indicator lights up.
3 Use the digital processing control buttons ( /
) to select the delay time.
The current delay time appears in the display.
4 Use the digital processing control buttons ( /
) to adjust the delay time.
Adjusting the equalizer parameters
(STR-DE915 only)
Adjust the equalization (bass or treble) of the front,
center and rear speakers for optimum sound.
The following adjustments effect all sound fields
simultaneously.
1 While playing a component, press DPC MODE
repeatedly until the TONE indicator lights up.
2 Use the digital processing control buttons ( /
) to select the parameter to be set and use the
buttons (
/ ) to select the setting.

3 Repeat Step 2 if necessary.

press EQ/TONE on the remote.
Note
You may hear some noise as you adjust the parameters.
