USB Device
Transferring music
from a disc to an USB
device
You can connect an optional USB device
to the (USB) port
on the unit and
transfer music from a disc to the USB
device.
You can transfer music from an AUDIO
CD or DATA CD/DVD (MP3 audio
tracks only) only.
e audio format of les transferred by
this system is MP3.
e amount of free space required on the
USB device is about 1 MB per minute
when transferring music from an AUDIO
CD.
Required free space may be larger when
transferring music from a DATA CD/
DVD (MP3 audio tracks only).
Refer to “Compatible USB devices”
(supplement) for a list of USB devices
that can be connected to this system.
e transferred music is limited to private
use only. Use of the music beyond this limit
requires permission of the copyright holders.
Note on the maximum number of
tracks, les and folders on an USB
device
is system cannot transfer music from a
disc in the following cases.
When the number of tracks or les on
a folder exceeds 150.
When the number of folders on an
USB device exceeds 200.
ese numbers may vary depending on
the track structure, the le structure and
the folder structure.

Connect an USB device to the
(USB) port
as shown
below.

When USB cable connection is
necessary, connect the USB cable
supplied with the USB device to be
connected.
See the operating instructions
supplied with the USB device to be
connected for details on the operation
method.
When the USB device is connected,
“READING” appears and “USB
MEM” lights up in the display.
