To adjust microphone echo
Turn ECHO LEVEL on the unit to adjust the
echo effect. To cancel the echo effect, turn
ECHO LEVEL on the unit to MIN.
Notes
You can also turn on the Karaoke Mode by pressing
KARAOKE MODE.
During Karaoke Mode is turned on, you can turn off
the Karaoke Mode either by disconnecting all the
microphones or pressing KARAOKE MODE.
If acoustic feedback (howling) occurs, move the
microphone away from the speakers or change the
direction of the microphone.
Karaoke Mode is automatically turned off when you
turn off the system.

Singing karaoke by reducing
the vocal
(DVD VIDEO, DVD-RW in VR mode,
VIDEO CD, AUDIO CD, MP3 audio
tracks and DivX video files only)
By reducing the sound of the vocal, you can
enjoy karaoke with any disc, even it is not a
karaoke or multiplex disc.
1 Press DISPLAY once or twice
during Karaoke Mode is turned on
while playing a disc.
The Control Menu appears in the on-screen
display.
2 Press M or m repeatedly to select
(KARAOKE PON), then press
ENTER.
The options for “KARAOKE PON” appear
in the on-screen display.
3 Press M or m repeatedly to select “ON”,
then press ENTER.
The vocal is reduced.
Notes
The singer’s voice may not be reduced when
only a few instruments are playing.
a duet is being played back.
the source has strong echoes or chorus.
the singer’s voice deviates from the center.
the voice on the source is singing in high soprano
or tenor.
To cancel the effect of “KARAOKE PON”, select
“OFF” in step 3.
You can also change the “KARAOKE PON” setting
by pressing KARAOKE PON when the Karaoke
Mode is turned on. The following display appears in
the on-screen display.
The “KARAOKE PON” setting is automatically
changed to “OFF” when you
turn off the system.

Adjusting the pitch of the
music
(DVD VIDEO, DVD-RW in VR mode,
VIDEO CD, AUDIO CD, MP3 audio

You can adjust the pitch of the music to suit your
vocal range. You can adjust the key higher or
lower in 14 halftone steps.

2 Press M or m repeatedly to select
(KEY CONTROL), then press
ENTER.
