Picture
There is no picture.
Press DVD.
Check that the system is connected securely.
The video cable is damaged. Replace it with a
new one.
Make sure you connect the system to the video
input jack of your TV (see page 13).
Make sure you turn on the TV.
Make sure you select the video input on the TV
so that you can view the pictures from the
system.
Make sure you connect the system and your TV
using only the supplied video cable so that you
can view game images.
Picture noise appears.
Clean the disc.
If video from your DVD player has to go through
your VCR to get to your TV, the copy-protection
applied to some DVD programs could affect
picture quality. If you still experience problems
after checking your connections, please try
connecting your DVD player directly to your
TV’s S video-input, if your TV is equipped with
this input (see page 13).
Except for Pan-American and European models,
the color system is different. Set the color system
to match your TV (see page 13).
The aspect ratio of the screen cannot be
changed even though you set “TV TYPE” in
“SCREEN SETUP” in the Setup Display when
you play a wide picture.
The aspect ratio is fixed on your DVD.
If you connect the system with the S-video cable,
connect directly to the TV. Otherwise, you may
not change the aspect ratio.
Depending on the TV, you may not change the
aspect ratio.
Messages do not appear on the screen in the
language you want.
Select the language you want for the on-screen
display in “OSD” under “LANGUAGE SETUP”
in the Setup Display (see page 29).
MP3 audio track cannot be played back.
Recording was not performed according to the
ISO 9660 level 1 or level 2 format, or Joliet in
the expansion format.
The MP3 audio track does not have the extension
“.MP3”.
The data is not stored in MP3 format.
Discs containing files other than MPEG 1 Audio
Layer-3 files cannot be played.
MP3 audio tracks take longer to play back than
others.
After the system reads all tracks on the disc,
playback may take more time than usual if:
the number of albums or tracks on the disc is
very large.
the album and track organization structure is
very complex.
The album title, track title and ID3 tag do not
appear correctly.
The CD was not recorded in conformance with
ISO 9660 level 1, level 2 or Joliet. Use a CD that
conforms with ISO 9660 level 1, level 2 or Joliet.
The disc ID3 tag is not ver. 1.0.
The album title, track title and ID3 tag appear as
spaces. The CD characters appear as spaces.
The character codes that can be displayed by this
system are numbers and alphabet only. Other
characters appear as spaces.
The disc tray does not open and “LOCKED”
appears.
