OTHER OPERATIONS
Using sound effects
Note:
The following sound effects may not be available or have no effect
depending on the type of source.
You may experience a reduction in sound quality when these sound
effects are used with some sources. If this occurs, turn the sound
effects off.
Press [SOUND].
(For fi les with the extension “.mp3” or “.MP3”.)

HEAVY SOFT CLEAR
EQ OFF VOCAL
HEAVY : Adds punch to rock.
SOFT : For background music .
CLEAR : Clarifi es higher sounds.
VOCAL : Adds gloss to vocal.
EQ OFF : No effect.

1 Press [SOUND] to select “MAN EQ”.

Change the sound quality with the cursor buttons.
Select the sound range to be adjusted with [ ] or [ ].
BASS MID TREBLE
Adjust the level with [ ] or [ ].

Repeat step 2 to set the desired sound quality.

2 Press [2] or [3] to select either “RE-MASTER ON” or
“RE-MASTER OFF”.
For other modes with MP3 contents, refer to page 18.

1 Press [SOUND] to select “D.BASS”.
2 Press [2] or [3] to select either “D.BASS ON” or “D.BASS
OFF”.
Alternatively, press [D.BASS] on the main unit several times to select
either “D.BASS ON” or “D.BASS OFF”.

Using the timers
Setting the clockSetting the clock
This is a 24-hour clock.
1 Press [CLOCK / TIMER] to select “CLOCK”.

3 Press [CLOCK / TIMER] to finish setting the time.
Displaying the time
Press [CLOCK / TIMER] once when the unit is on or in standby mode.
The time is displayed for a few seconds.
Note:
Reset the clock regularly to maintain accuracy.
Using the play timer Using the play timer
You can set the play timer to come on at a certain time to wake you
up.
Preparation
Turn the unit on and set the clock.
Prepare the music source you want to listen to; disc, radio, USB,
option port or music port source, and set the volume.
1 Press [CLOCK/TIMER] repeatedly to select play timer.

3 Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to confirm.
4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 to set the fi nishing time.
To activate the timer
5 Press and hold [−TIMER PLAY] to turn on the timer.
˚PLAY ON” is displayed.
6 Press [y] to turn off the unit.
The unit must be off for the timer to operate.
To Action
Change the settings Repeat steps 1 to 4 and 6.
Change the source
or volume
1) Press and hold [−TIMER PLAY] to
select “˚PLAYOFF”.
2) Make changes to the source or volume.
3) Perform steps 5 and 6.
Check the settings
(when the unit is on
or in standby mode)
Press [CLOCK/TIMER] repeatedly to
select “˚PLAY”.
Cancel Press and hold [−TIMER PLAY] to select
˚PLAYOFF”.
Note:
The play timer will start at the preset time, with the volume
increasing gradually to the preset level.
The timer comes on at the set time every day if the timer is on.
The unit must be in the standby mode for the timer to function.
If you turn the unit off and on again while a timer is functioning, the
fi nish time setting will not be activated.
If MUSIC PORT or OPTION port

or USB is selected as the
source when the timer comes on, the system turns on and
engages MUSIC PORT or OPTION port
2
or USB as the source. If
you wish to playback from the connected equipments, activate the
equipments’ play mode and increase the volume. (See the other
equipments’ instruction manual.)
