Playing a USB memory device
Playable USB memory formats
Files created in the following formats and stored on a USB memory
device can be played.
n USB-Compatible fi le systems
“FAT16” or “FAT32”
• If the USB memory device is divided into multiple partitions, only
the top drive can be selected.
n Maximum number of playable fi les and folders
Maximum number of fi les in a folder: 65,535
Maximum number of folders: 700
n File format
MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3)
WMA (Windows Media Audio)
M4A (AAC)
WAV (LINER PCM)
n Tag data
ID3-Tags (Ver.1.x and 2.x)

• Contents downloaded from pay sites on the Internet are copyright
protected. Also, fi les encoded in WMA format when ripped from a
CD, etc., on a computer may be copyright protected, depending on
the computer’s settings.
Playing fi les stored on USB memory devices

Press <DISC/INPUT> or [INPUT] to change the
input source to “USB”.

Connect the USB memory device to the USB
terminal on the front panel of this unit. (vpage13)

Press 1.
Playback starts.
To Switch the Folder or File During Playback
GUsing the buttons on the main unitH
During playback, press <8/6> or <7/9>.
GUsing the buttons on the remote controlH
Folder
Use [d, f] to select the folder, then press [ENTER].
File
Use [8] or [9] to select the fi le.
The fi le numbers are set automatically when the USB memory device
is loaded.
Stopping Playback
Press 2.
Stopping Playback temporarily
Press 3.
• The “3” indicator lights.
• To restart playback, press 1 or 3.
Fast-Forwarding and Fast-Reversing (Searching)
GUsing the buttons on the main unitH
During playback, press and hold in <8/6> or <7/9>.
• When you remove your fi nger from the button, normal playback is
resumed.
• When normal playback is resumed after searching, the sound may
be interrupted momentarily.

During playback, press and hold in
[6] or [7].
• When you remove your fi nger from the button, normal playback is
resumed.
