In case of difficulty
÷ The TV is not turned on.
Turn on the TV.
÷ The connection cords are not properly connected.
Properly reconnect the connection cords.

÷ The picture is slightly disrupted during fast forward and fast re-
verse operations. This is not a malfunction.
÷ Connect properly referring to "System connections".

÷ A nearby device is generating noise.
÷ The disc is dirty.
Refer to the "Disc handling precautions" section and wipe dirt
from the disc.

÷ The disc is damaged. Use a new disc.
÷ There is condensation on the optical lens.
Refer to the "Caution on condensation" section and evaporate
the condensation.

÷ Time is required for the unit to detect the disc type and size and
for the rotation of the motor to stabilize. This is not a malfunction.
÷ The disc is dirty.
Refer to the "Disc handling precautions" section and wipe dirt
from the disc.

÷ Properly place the disc on the tray.
÷ Playback is not possible because of parental control or region
code. *(
÷ The video format of the disc being played does not match that of
the connected TV monitor.

÷ The DVD disc being played does not contain the recording of
subtitles.
÷ The subtitle mode is set to off.
Press the SUBTITLE key to switch on the subtitle mode.

Remedy
DVD/CD player section
Playback starts but no image/sound is seen
heard.
The picture is disrupted when the image is fast
forwarded or fast reversed.
The picture does not look good or the picture/
sound quality is poor.
It takes a while for the disc to start playing.
A warning is displayed on the TV screen and
playback is not possible.
The top and bottom of the screen cannot be
seen, or the screen becomes black-and-white.
The subtitle is not displayed.
Symptom
÷ Connect antennas. 0
÷ Select a band. ·
÷ Tune to the frequency of the desired station. q
÷ Install the outdoor antenna in an apart position from the road.
÷ Switch the suspected electric appliance OFF.
÷ Install the TV or the system at an increased distance between
them.
÷ Preset stations with tunable frequencies.

÷ Preset stations again. ‚
Radio stations cannot be received.
Noise interferes.
A station has been preset but it cannot be re-
ceived by pressing the P.CALL key.
