Adjusting the picture quality
This unit permits adjustment of the picture quality.
÷ When the TV has a function for adjustment of the picture quality, use the TV for adjustment of the pic-
ture quality.
÷ Perform the operation during playback of video software.
Various disc playback features
1 Select the picture quality adjustment icon of
the "VISUAL" on-screen display and press the
ENTER key.
2 Press the MULTI CONTROL %/fi key to se-
lect the picture quality and press the ENTER
key.
"Normal" :
Playback with normal picture
quality.
"Fine" :A clear picture quality with
enhanced contours is ob-
tained.
"Soft" :A soft picture quality with lit-
tle noise is obtained.
"Cinema" : A picture quality close to the
image of a movie screen is
obtained.
"User Mode 1" :The User Mode menu is dis-
played and detailed settings
can be made.
Please refer to "When "User
Mode 1" or "User Mode 2"
has been selected".
"User Mode 2" :The User Mode menu is dis-
played and detailed settings
can be made.
Please refer to "When "User
Mode 1" or "User Mode 2"
has been selected".
"Noise Reduction" : The Noise Reduction menu is
displayed and detailed settings
can be made. Please refer to
"When Noise Reduction has
been selected".
"GAMMA" :The hue (brightness) of the
connected TV screen is ad-
justed. The "GAMMA" menu is
displayed.
Press the MULTI CONTROL
%/fi key to select a numeri-
cal value and press the ENTER
key to adjust.
÷ Picture quality adjustment ends when "Normal",
"Fine", "Soft", or "Cinema" has been selected.
Adjust the picture quality
When "User Mode 1" or "User Mode 2" has
been selected
1 Press the MULTI CONTROL %/fi key to se-
lect the picture quality and press the ENTER
key.
"Contrast" :
The contrast between light and dark
parts of the image is adjusted in the
range from -7 to +7.
"Color" :The color density is adjusted in the
range from -7 to +7.
"Sharpness" : The degree of emphasizing the image
contours is adjusted in the range from
-7 to +7.
"Brightness" : The image brightness is adjusted in the
range from 0 to +15.
2 Press the MULTI CONTROL %/fi key to se-
lect a numerical value and press the ENTER
key.
÷ Repeat steps 1 and 2 to adjust the picture quality.
÷ Return to the "VISUAL" on-screen display is made
when the RETURN key is pressed.
When "Noise Reduction" has been selected
1 Press the MULTI CONTROL %/fi key to se-
lect the setting item and press the ENTER key.
"Mosquito NR" :
Mosquito noise is reduced.
Select "On2", "On1", or "Off".
"Block NR" : Block noise is reduced when "On"
is selected.
"3D NR" : Image noise is reduced when "On"
is selected.
"Dot NR" : Dot noise is reduced when "On" is
selected.
2 Press the MULTI CONTROL %/fi key to se-
lect the setting item and press the ENTER key.
÷ Repeat steps 1 and 2 to adjust the picture quality.
÷ Return to the "VISUAL" on-screen display is made
when the RETURN key is pressed.
÷ "3D NR" and "Dot NR" cannot be "On" at the same
time.
