LISTENING TO A PROGRAM SOURCE
Basic Operation
Before operation
• Before operating this unit with the supplied remote control, refer to "UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROLS" on page 12 for details
about operation.
• Each time the POWER ON/STANDBY button is pressed,
the unit is turned on to enter the operating mode(the
POWER ON/STANDBY indicator lights up blue) or off to
enter the standby mode(the POWER ON/ STANDBY
indicator lights up amber).
• On the remote control, press the POWER ON button to
enter the operating mode or press the STANDBY button
to enter the standby mode.
• In the standby mode, if the SOURCE SELECT,
PLAY/PAUSE ( /
) or OPEN/CLOSE( ) button is
pressed, the unit can be also turned on.
Standby mode
This means that the unit is not disconnected from the AC
mains and a small amount of current is retained to support
the operation readiness.
Setting the power off mode
You can set the power off mode to either the standby
mode or the power saving mode and can save energy
more in the power saving mode than in the standby mode.
• Depending on whether the STANDBY button on the
remote control for more than 2 seconds either in the
standby mode or in the power saving mode, it is set to
the power saving mode(time display is turned off) or the
standby mode.
Note
• Depending on the power off mode setting, when the
power is turned off, it enters the mode you set.
• In case of connecting the active subwoofer, turn on the
active subwoofer.
• Each time the SOURCE SELECT button on the front
panel, the input source changes as follows :
FM AM AUX F. AUX VIDEO DVD
(frequency display)
• "MUTING" flickers.
• To resume the pervious sound level, press the
MUTING button again.
• Then the sound from the speakers is cut off.
Note
Be careful not to set the volume too high when using
headphones.
