MESSAGES
Messages may appear on the display while using the DN-C550R. The meanings of these messages are explained below.
Message Meaning
Reading disc information.
During tray opening.
During tray closing.
No disc inserted, disc unreadable or disc inserted upside down.
Updating disc contents.
No more recording possible.
No digital recording can be made of the connected source.
See Digital Copies (SCMS) on Page 6.
Data signals other than audio signals have been input.
These signals are not recorded.
Time countdown when finalizing a disc.
When trying to record on a finalized CD-R or a prerecorded CD.
During laser power calibration for unfinalized discs.
OPC failure during OPC procedure
(OPC = Optimum Power Calibration)
An error has occurred during recording.
Recording or finalization is not possible due to a disc fault.
When attempting to edit text for a disc which has no tracks.
No text stored for disc.

There is an incomplete connection of the digital input jack during
digital input recording, or the input signal is not being input properly
due to some other factor.
Setting value of the synchro recording starting level.
23 text characters have already been input or a total of 900 characters
have already been input.
Disc is not operating properly.
Skip is set for all tracks.
Mode reception has been completed.
If the disc is removed, all the text information is cleared.
The recordable time on the disc is shorter than the time of the
recording source you are trying to copy.
The text information is copy-protected so the text cannot be copied in
the copy mode.
The CD side track information is being checked.
